I would like to thank my partners, H.E. Madam BRIGITTE TOUADERAThe First Lady of the Central African RepublicH.E. Madam ANGELINE NDAYISHIMIYE, The First Lady of the Republic of Burundi, H.E. Mrs. DENISE NYAKERU TSHISEKEDIThe First Lady of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, The First Lady of Malawi, H.E. Mrs. MONICA CHAKWERA; who are also the Ambassadors of Merck More Than a Mother, for extending the honor of the Merck Foundation ‘Stay At Home’ Media Recognition Awards 2020, by handing over the certificates to the esteemed winners from their respective countries. This is a great support to achieve our objectives of advancing capacity of African Media personnel and raise awareness about COVID-19 pandemic.

Big congratulations to all the winners who have exhibited passion, devotion, and innovation in their work while covering and sharing information on Coronavirus. I sincerely believe that media plays a critical role in raising awareness and sensitizing communities about pressing issues such as breaking the stigma of infertility and girls’ education. We welcome the winners as Merck Foundation Alumni and we hope to work with them, together, to create a culture shift as a part of ‘Merck More Than a Mother’ and ‘Educating Linda’ programs.

The First Lady of the Central African RepublicH.E. Madam BRIGITTE TOUADERA, gave the Merck Foundation 'Stay At Home' Media Recognition Awards certificate to Arsène-Jonathan Mosseavo, the First Prize winner of African French-speaking countries in the Online Category. Congratulations again; I am honored to have my dear sister, The First Lady of CAR and Ambassador of Merck More Than a Mother has handed over the certificate and celebrated his achievement at her office along with the Ministers of Health and Communication.

 

The First Lady of the Republic of Burundi, H.E. Madam ANGELINE NDAYISHIMIYE, gave the Merck Foundation 'Stay At Home' Media Recognition Awards certificate to Bahwa Ferdinand, the Third Prize winner of African French-speaking countries in the Online Category. Congratulations again. I am so proud of this honor that my dear sister, The First Lady of Burundi and Ambassador of Merck More Than a Mother, celebrated his achievement at her office.
